Abstract |
This study investigates day care centers in apartment housings in Daejeon. Day care centers facilitated in apartment housings have merits for young children due to their familiarity to housing environment, and to closeness to children's homes. But they are neglected for their tiny area size compared with total floor area size. The research conducts a field study of 18 day care centers in Daejeon where floor area size, floor plan and renewing layouts, and equipments are examined to analyzed floor area size referring to apartment unit number, floor planning and renovation guideline for space utilization, equipment improvement for child care environment. The results illustrate current profiles of day care centers and provide design guidelines for improving the physical condition. |
