Abstract To improve seismic performance of existing residential buildings, strengthening method on I-shaped and T-shaped wall was evaluated through an experimental work in this study. 4th of almost damaged specimens were strengthened by steel fiber concrete, aramid fiber sheet and additional reinforcement. Where, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of aramid sheet for retrofitted walls, aramid sheet is attached to longitudinal direction and rolled in a horizontal direction of the wall specimens. Horizontal cyclic loads are applied to the top of the specimen with constant axial load. Throughout test, strength, stiffness, failure modes, and ductility ratio are evaluated. From these, strengthened wall by aramid fiber sheet and steel fiber concrete after replacing reinforcements could be make the strength and deformation capacity recovery of almost 100% of undamaged wall capacity. For the convenience of strengthening method, using of aramid fiber sheet is recommended by performance test results.
