Abstract This research aims to study the relationships among the cognitive aspect of the creativity, creative personality, general knowledge, knowledge of the major field of study, and the ability of architectural design. The subjects are 191 students majoring architecture in the university in Choong-Nam province. The subjects are divided into two groups, high grade (the junior and the senior group) and low grade one (the freshman and the sophomore group). Each group is divided again into two sub-groups, 'high ability group of the architectural design' and 'low ability group'.?? The data of two sub-groups on the cognitive aspect of the creativity, creative personality, general knowledge, knowledge of the major field of study are compared through the t-test method. For the analyse of the predictive factors of the evaluation result, we use the stepwise multiple linear regression. The results are as follows. First, in the low grade group, the high ability of architectural design group gained significantly high academic scores in the creative traits, knowledge of the major field of study and general knowledge.
