Abstract The purpose of this paper investigates one of the digitally adapted design methodologies in architecture: Reverse Engineering(RE)-based digital design process as surface representation process to construct a complex free-from shape.??The paper takes as its objective of inquiry a specific set of building intentions, and associated computational strategies, playing a fundamental role in Gerhy's projects: the design, engineering and fabrication of surface forms.??The digital design process in Gehry's architecture has typical features that new geometry; structural skin, not mass production but mass customization, new role-model of architect as master builder and cultural transition to collaborative partnerships.
