Abstract |
Multimedia rooms for various visual tasks require accurate design and control scenarios in artificial lighting during the early stages of design processes. Then, various design and control schemes have to be evaluated in terms of quantitative and qualitative aspects. Illuminance levels for various visual tasks must be evaluated in terms of quantitative aspects and luminance distributions under various lighting schemes must be evaluated in terms of qualitative aspects. In this study, the RADIANCE program was used to evaluate the illuminance and luminance distributions in an actual multimedia lecture room to suggest a procedure for designing and controlling the artificial lighting for multi-purpose rooms. In this study, three main criteria for evaluating the luminous environment of the multipurpose room included illuminance level, VCP(Visual Comfort Proability) and UGR(Unified Glare Rating). |
