Abstract |
In RC structures, standard hook is the effective anchorage method of the main longitudinal tension reinforcement to tension failure. But, the use of standard hook results in steel congestion, making fabrication and construction difficult. Generally, headed reinforcement offers several advantages over straight bar or hooked bar anchorages to develop reinforcement in concrete members. The objective of this study is to investigate the shear behaviors of reinforced concrete deep beam with headed reinforcement. Ten deep beam specimens are designed to study the anchorage capacity of headed reinforcement as well as the contribution of H-bar and V-bar to the shear. Two anchorage types, standard??90-degree anchorage and headed reinforcement, are considered in the design of RC deep beams.?? From the tests, it is shown that headed reinforcement is able to replace standard 90-degree anchorage as the anchorage method. Based on the test, the shear design provision of ACI 318-99 and AIJ Code were evaluated. The ACI 318-99 Code is shown to be conservative, but the AIJ Code are unconservative. |
