Abstract |
Research about vibration control that use tuned liquid damper(TLD) is economical and efficient to reduce vibration(vibration displacement and acceleration) occurrence about strong wind of tall building. The effect of reducing vortex induced the vibration of tall buildings with TLD which has a aspect ratio of 8 was investigated in the boundary layer flows presenting suburban area using aeroelastic building model which have a TLD in the top level. A total of 15 test cases that correspond to different TLD are experiment for wind speed range from 0.7m/s to 2.4m/s. The top displacement RMS value reduces to that of the original building model without a TLD when the generalized mass ratio equals to 1.5%. The optimal frequency of the TLD range between 0.985hz and 0.995Hz of the building model which is consistent with the analytical derivation. |
