Abstract Quality control is a management to do 'right things' in 'right ways' when producing goods or services to satisfy customers. But current quality control has been concentrated on only right ways rather than right things. Though quality control activities have been made to judge whether procedures are followed or not, they could be worthless without considering what customers want. This kind of quality control method was appropriate when customers' choice was limited on products supplied by mass production company. Unlike mass production system, the customers in mass customization system have various needs. But the adaptation of current quality control is much dulled to the changes of customer needs. So it has caused many problems in this customer-centered business environment. Therefore this study suggests new quality control method to solve the problems of current quality control method which is not suitable to mass customization. New quality control method using construction value can respond to continuously changing customer needs promptly.
