Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to investigate experimentally the shear resisting behavior of the reinforced concrete beams strengthened with Carbon Fiber Sheet. Fourteen specimens were manufactured and tested under static monotonic loading. The main variables in the test were the amount of CFS, the reinforcement method, the span/depth ratio and the shear reinforcement ratio. The test result indicated that the amount of CFS increase significantly the ultimate shear strength of a reinforced concrete beam. The shear capacity of a beam strengthened with CFS is defined as summation of the shear force by the concrete, stirrup, and CFS. |
