Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to focus the control guidelines of District Unit Development(DUD) through civil appeals and design guideline in 5 major new town of 1990s. This paper reviews approaches to urban design in 5 major new towns of Korea, comparing guidelines and civil appeals. The paper explores how guidelines are connected to developmental purpose of new towns and how guidelines might be addressed and became a part of contemporary planning and design practice in the step of implementation. The government reviewed real civil appeal data and analyzed it for the kinds of circumstances that made civil appeal, what were the results and why? Explanation of how specific urban design elements can be implemented, based on guideline and civil appeal analysis as well as how these will improve guidelines of built environments will be offered. ? |
