Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of wind movement and air flow according to the placement of pilotis in apartment housing. The conclusion was drawn from analyzing four different types of layouts and their impact on the wind movement and flow. The wind velocity ratio is defined as the difference between the wind velocities at entering and at exiting the apartment housing. The layout types selected for the analysis are grid linear type, tower type and the combination of grid and linear type. As a result of analyzing the wind flow simulation on the opening of pilotis, as the opening of pilotis is larger, the wind velocity ratio was found to be also larger. The wind velocity was higher with placing pilotis on the first floor rather than the upper floors and opening the center rather than the sides.??Furthermore, opening pilotis vertically with 1st and 2nd floors had higher velocity than the opening horizontally. The planning for wind movement and flows not only improves the exterior wind velocity ratio and balances of air quality within the apartment housing, but also provides better ventilation and air quality for the interior. |
