Abstract The airtightness of window is one of the major factors for energy efficient building design. Determining the air flow rate induced by a given pressure difference, ΔP, allows one to predict infiltration rate, infiltration related energy consumption and indoor thermal comfort, etc. from weather data. The air permeability of windows were measured by pressurization test for the various opening types and frame materials of them. An infiltration coefficient and an infiltration exponent are determined by an empirical analysis of the each test data. The average infiltration exponent of windows showed 0.64 and the average infiltration coefficient showed 0.503. We suggested equation to predict the infiltration exponent by the airtightness of windows.
