Abstract In the vibration analysis of parking building or goods handling building structures, it is appropriate that moving loads of vehicle driving inside parking building or goods handling building are applied inside of analysis model of structure. And these moving loads would be transformed to the equivalent moving loads of plate element for efficient vibration analysis. Because these moving loads transfer floor slab to frame structure. Dynamic loads of moving vehicle could be represented by the inertia force from relative displacement of vehicle. Also the excitation frequency of moving vehicle could be related to the wave length and moving speed. Assuming that the moving vehicles oscillate along the floor roughness, the characteristic of moving loads could be determined by floor roughness. So floor roughness should be considered for the accurate vibration analysis of floor slab subjected to moving loads of driving vehicle. In this paper, new modeling method of moving loads applying equivalent moving loads considering floor roughness is proposed for the efficient analysis of floor vibration induced by moving vehicles within a building structures.
