Abstract Daylight for indoor illumination provides both energy savings and human comfort . However, glare from windows can cause discomfort. Many researches in the field of discomfort glare from window have been done and many evaluation equations have been proposed which use range was limited and found out many problems. On the basis of the previous studies, we considered the effects of window size, numver of windows, view point and luminance of work-plan on discomfort glare from window. In conclusion, 1) for different subeject position, there is 17% to 32% discomfort glare increasing from 600×600mm to 1000×1000mm; 2) there is no significant change in discomfort glare with view point and luminance of work-plan.3) the more number of window, the more glare sensation can be concluded. Ω(modified solid angle) is regarded as the most important factor in high luminance used to evaluate discomfort glare, while in low luminance Ω effect is small.
