Abstract |
The strength and behavior of Split-Tee connections that is applicable all tensile connections with high strength bolts has been studied in many country. But, because it is difficult to correctly model joint deformable behavior with high strength bolts, the study of component method availing finite-element modeling could not develop with activity. For evaluate tensile capability of split-tee connections, the total of 20 split-tee specimens with two bolts are fabricated and are tested. Experimental parameters are a thickness of T-flanges, painting or not, pre-load or not and the length of bolt shank. The joint stiffness of split-tee connections is compared with the stiffness equation of Faella et. al and the result of finite element method analysis with Ansys 8.0 and the force and gap relation on each parameters of split-tee connections is discribed. In this paper, we complete a finite element model of split-tee connections with high strength bolts, and look for application for the base data of component method. |
