Abstract |
This study presents simplified analytical models for outrigger structural systems subjected to uniform and linearly varying lateral loading. The proposed analytical models are based on one-dimensional Timoshenko beam with resisting moment, and two-dimensional plane frame, which account for transverse shear deformation of the structures. Numerical results are obtained for outrigger structural systems addressing the effects of transverse shear deformation. The results by the proposed model is compared with those of previously available analytical model and full computer model indicating that the present models are efficient and accurate for predicting lateral drift and core resisting moment. |
