| Abstract |
The rapid growth of computer technology allowed to activate studies on CAFM not only to lengthen building's life span, but to make the buildings easily adapt to the environment. At the same time, as interests on AR increase, diverse AR applications in many fields have been developed. The purpose of this study is to develop an AR application for the effective building management system. To attain our goal, two main approaches have attempted as follows. The first step is to construct an integrated building information database by categorizing and systematically organizing diverse building information. And the second is to develop a prototype building management system called Building Scanner using AR techniques and the integrated building database. Throughout this study, we believe that the Building Scanner will pioneer the AR based building management systems that will enhance communications between building managers and residents. |
