Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to analyze the design methods of Railway Station Areas, focusing on analyzing the characteristics of spatial structure, functional program, the circulation of vehicles and pedestrians. In order to analyze three elements, spatial structure, functional program, the system of vehicles and pedestrians circulation, we surveyed seven case studies of the redevelopment of railway station areas, Sinagawa Station, Nagoya Station, Kyoto Station, Hitachi Station in Japan, Euralille Station in France, Basel Euroville Station in Swiss, Utrecht Station in Netherlands. As a result, this study shows that the revitalization, the urban restructure of the centralization strengthen, the creativity of urban image in the aspect of urban spatial structure; mixed-use, complex program in the aspect of land use; multi- level circulation of pedestrian deck, exchanging transit system of mass traffic, pedestrian oriented development in the aspect of the system of vehicles and pedestrians circulation, the diverse main bodies of development of private, public and corporation methods, of the networking of open space and so on. |
