Abstract This study analyzes the amount of city gas use of a multistory apartment households for 24 months according to the location of household, in order to supply a base material for an effective energy management and insulation of buildings. In this analysis, the first story and highest story of the apartment present higher rate of annual city gas use by 29.4% and 5.9% per year than that of the middle stories, respectively.
However, the highest story presents the lowest use during the summer season. The household located at the side of building
presents higher rate of city gas use by 4.7% than that of the household located at the middle of building. In addition, the mortar construction of panel heating, which is filled by a fine gravel on styrofoam, showed lower rate of city gas by 9.8% than that of the construction on foam concrete.
The main reason of the difference in the use of city gas according to the location of households considered as the insulation.
