Abstract The purpose of this paper is to improve seismic capacities of the Concrete Filled Tubular Square Column-to-Beam Connections with combined cross diaphragm which was developed previously for Concrete Filled Tubular Square Column-to-Beam Connections which can be used on strong earthquake region. Two full-scale specimens were tested according to the standard ANSI/AISC SSPEC-2002. Existing connections with combined cross diaphragm had 0.02㎭ inelastic rotational degree. It has the resistance of the connection for seismic performance required in the region of light/moderate earthquakes. In the result of test, combined cross diaphragm specimens reach 0.03㎭ of inelastic rotational degree what can be used in the region of special earthquakes without stress concentration phenomenon of beam flange.
