Abstract |
This paper summarizes studies in which the structural performance of cast-in-place infilled wall with opening were studied experimentally and analytically. The experimental investigation consisted of a cyclic load tests on 1/3-scale models of one story-one bay reinforced concrete frame infilled wall with opening or not. The opening was leaded to considerable reduction of the strength and stiffness of the structure. The results of this investigation show that the reduction in strength of the infilled wall with openings could be compensated for by providing additional diagonal bar by the side of the opening. |
