Abstract The Ewha-hakdang building was established in Jungdong, Seoul at 1886 by Mrs. Scaraton by the help of W.F.M.S. This building has the significance in the historical, educational and religious field. As for the architectural field, it can be said that the signification of the building is in proper adoption of western materials, skills and new space composition to Korean traditional house, Han-ok. Even though these importances, now we have many problems to reconstruct this building because remained pictures and data are old and indistinct. So we got through the steps as follows. First, we examined the documentary records describing students's life and building in those days and then we researched other buildings like American Legation Building and Bogu-hospital and Underwood house of the same age. Also we examined the visual data. We made basemap of Jungdong through years. We used computer programs like Autocad and Photomodeler to get more exact data as well as to express the results.
