Abstract |
This study compared and analyzed the correlation of the Integration and specifically spaced Point Depth coefficient to find out the accessibility of elements location of traditional Korean villages by Space Syntax. (1) The distribution of the residence for higher classes appeared frequently in the site that the Integration was comparatively higher and its Point Depth was lower. This means that the residence for higher classes was mainly situated at higher places in terms of accessibility. It also suggests that their residence represented a symbolic meaning through space phase as the main elements of a village. (2) The distribution of the graded facilities, such as Sadang, Jaeshil, and Seowon, appeared in the site that the Integration was lower and the Point Depth was deeper. This means that the graded facilities situated at the segregated site not only intercepted frequent visits by common people, but also gave spiritual meanings to those facilities. (3) The public facilities for village people appeared the places that are mainly higher in their Integration and lower in their Point Depth. This means that in terms of the whole space structure they are placed at the site easily to give access to the place and they play a role for a public place of a village. |
