Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to investigate punching shear strength of interior flat plate slab supported by rectangular column, with respect to column aspect ratio varied between 2.0 to 4.5. To inspect the effect of column aspect ratios(long side length/short side length of column section) on the punching shear behavior, the length of shear critical section was held constant. Six specimens made of normal and high strength concrete were tested. As increased column aspect ratios, punching shear strengths were decreased due to the concentration of applied loads to the short side of column support, but the reduction for higher column aspect ratio were small decrement gradually. Code predictions unnecessarily overestimates the influence of column aspect ratios. |
