| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to figure out how people recognize building image of Catholic Churches. For the date collection, A survey research along with a questionnaire was conducted on 34 exterior pictures of Catholic Churches in Diocese of Suwon for extracting images of church buildings. This investigation used various evaluation methods such as conceptual, taste images and impressions about 34 slide pictures of Catholic Church buildings. In the present work, the SPSS window version 12.0 program was used for analysis of statistical data from survey. Based on the survey and analytical results, the following conclusions were made: (1) The main visual factors of Catholic Churches are defined by image of religious and image of decorations, (2) Four types of Catholic church images (box, bell tower, classic and geometric type) were obtained from 34 exterior pictures using complex image as a main visual factor, and (3) Also among obtained four types of church images, the classic and bell tower of types were selected to typical types of Catholic church buildings rather than box and the geometric types. |
