| Abstract |
Public libraries has been changed for materials' increases and social needs. So this study investigates the changes of materials area in public libraries in Daejeon. 12 libraries are surveyed and followings are resulted in. Inner space organized symmetrically laying public space at the center and living space at the peripheral. Materials area such as adult area, children area and e-resources area are separated and allocated each floor, first and second floor and the same floor. These space organizations are related with changes for materials area. Libraries begin changes after 6 or 8 years, materials area begin after 8 or 10 years. Purposes of change are extension of adult and children area, addition of e- resources. Methods of changes are reduction of reading room and changes of materials room. Function and equipment of materials area are performed continuously after changes. |
