Abstract As a preceding study, the manufacturing of sulfur mortar and concrete was carried out and reported. In this paper, the physical properties of sulfur concrete such as strength, Young's modulus, stress- strain curve, unit weight, absorption rate and hardening shrinkage were investigated compared with normal portland cement concrete. ??Test results showed that compressive strength of sulfur concrete was 66.2 MPa at 28 days and sulfur concrete sets very rapidly and achieves 76% of 28 day strength within 24hrs. The Young's modulus was almost same but the strain of sulfur concrete at fracture was bigger than normal concrete. Sulfur concrete exhibited very low water permeability and unit density was 2421 kg/㎥ . Hardening shrinkage of sulfur mortar was about 4% and coefficient of thermal expansion of sulfur mortar was 40.3×10-6 /℃.
