Abstract The purpose of this paper investigates one of the digitally adapted design methodologies in architecture: CAD/CAM -based digital design process as surface representation process to construct a complex free-from shape.??The paper takes as its objective of inquiry a specific computational strategies, playing a fundamental role in curved-form comtemporary buildings which were designed since 1900 and completed until now.??The digital design process in such contemporary buildings has typical features that digital template, not mass production but mass customization and additional cost.?? this paper summarize these features in terms of 'digital tectonics'.
