Abstract This paper aims to obtain some basic information for the promotion of public housing construction that is urgent, but hard to be propelled partly because of the negative social recognition, a so called NIMBY phenomenon. For this, the study investigates both the dissatisfaction evaluation of the residents in KangSeo Permanent Rental Housing (PRH) complex managed by SH corporation and their neighborhood's recognition on the PRH complex in terms of questionnaires divided by two groups. The result shows that the residents in PRH complex are especially dissatisfied with living space and number of rooms, parking capacity, outmoded building, and incidence of crime. Also the result illustrates that a recognition of neighborhood about PRH is mostly affected by the resident's living level and conscious of housing management in PRH complex.
