Abstract |
The long span and large-scale timber structures are requested to promote the wood demand. The effective utilization of timber is urged from the point of preservation of natural resources and global environment also in korea. And, the effective mixture of laminated timber and other materials is expected to extend the possibility of building structures because of the possibility to realized high performance in both structural safety and fire safety. This research is examining the moment resistance type jointing method using H section steel aiming at development of the 2 direction frame for large-sized structures. Therefore, it experimented by bending test of the joints using simple H section steel and structural laminated timber to investigate the strength, stress distributions of laminated timber and failure patterns. Additionally, we proposed calculation method of flexural strength. The main parameters are inserting length(1, 1.5, and 2 times of H-beam height) and epoxy between top/bottom flange of H-beam and top/bottom laminated timber. The results of the test show that the specimen having inserting length of 2 times of the H-beam height was characterized by fairly good strength and stiffness. As compared with an experimental result, the calculation method has caught 90 percent from 80 percent. |
