Abstract This study examines on an emerging paradigm in architectural design process - a renewed interest and growing synergy in digital representation, which appears between concept and construction. Through this research, new trends of complex form generation methodology in architectural design can be categorized by the use of digital technologies, which oriented from computer science such as dynamics and kinetics, metamorphosis and genetic algorithms. This analyzes primary features of digital representation, which applied in the contemporary building since 1990. Now, the integrated and seamless design process of 'concept-representation-construction' can be realized, and digital representation charts this transition of paradigm shift.
