Abstract |
It is not easy to verify the accuracy of the solution and the rationality of the process for solving a problem in the nonlinear analysis. But, if the stiffness components of a beam can be independently derived from bending moment and rotation, shear force and shear deformation, axial force and axial deformation, and torsion and torsional rotation respectively, nonlinear analysis of a frame will be relatively easy. If the hysteresis model of each component can be represented using multi-linear model, nonlinear analysis for this problem will be able to be performed easily using any linear analysis computer program. In this study, an approximate nonlinear analysis method using linear analysis computer program is suggested for the nonlinear analysis of a structure modelled according to the above-mentioned concept. For this suggestion, nonlinear analysis procedure using step by step incremental load is investigated first, an approximate nonlinear analysis method on the basis of this investigation is presented. Lastly, a sample analysis applying suggested method is performed to verify the possibility of application of this method. |
