Abstract |
According to recent studies, the perimeter block housing would be an alternative type of housing for solving various problems which are beared on the existing high-rise, high-density housing in Korean cities. The aim of this study is to suggest the applicable perimeter block housing models as a new type of urban housing in Korean cities. For the purpose, we simulated optimum scale of the housing considering current building codes of Korea, and check the feasibility of the development by analysing the possibility of fulfilling a certain density. And we also analyze the changing pattern of perimeter block housing's physical elements for different building shape ratio. The result of the simulation shows that the perimeter block housing can be development mid-rise high-density residential building. But, these models mean prototype which are able to apply various design guide-lines and design methods and needs more adjustments to apply practically considering of the site, the law and the socio-economic situation. |
