Abstract |
The serviceability evaluation methods regarding floor vibration can be found in foreign building codes or design guides regarding vibration. NBC, LRFD, ISO, DIN, and AISC Design Guide #11 are such examples. However, because the foreign vibration evaluation methods are based on each country's research results, they use partially different tolerance levels or evaluation scales, and thus, at times, produce different evaluation results for the same conditions. Under such circumstances, our country have still little research results in this area that suits for our condition, and we continue to use these foreign standards as ever. In this paper, the eight types of foreign vibration evaluation methods mostly being used in our country have been comparatively analyzed. After that, the experimental real values of natural frequencies and vibration responses for the existing 25 floors were applied to these evaluation methods to carry out the comparison among evaluation results so to suggest the guidelines helpful to use these methods. |
