Abstract The purpose of this study is to find the meaning of repetition of the Forms in Louis Kahn's architecture in the background of 1960s’ art history and in the principle of generating space. The most distinctive feature of Kahn's Architecture is that the pure geometric form is shown directly in plans and elevations. Especially, geometrical experimentation in plans is differentiated from the modern architecture, the connection of repetitions of Forms which is minimal unit shown since 1950s. These characteristic of the repetitive pattern is shown in Dutch structuralist architecture in 1960s, and in minimal art and pop art. In the paper, the background of the repetitive pattern of Kahn's architectures is studied and the meaning of the pattern in space is researched considering the circumstances of both 1960s' architecture and art. The results of this study were as follows: Repetitive pattern of Kahn's architecture comes from the diagram architecture, that make variety of scene like minimalist's repetition, and make labyrinthian space which was shown in Dutch structuralist architecture in 1960s.
