Abstract |
This study was intended to show the system, based on neural network and case-based reasoning(CBR), to help choose a proper earth retaining method to be applied at the stages of designing and construction-planning of earth retaining work. The new approach in selecting a proper earth retaining method can be an alternative to the present method of the subjective decision-making process because this system is able to keep track of all data recorded in the past and to give a professional analysis at the stage of method-choosing process. Applying the neural network model and the CBR model to earth retaining method can significantly contribute to identifying and clarifying possible factors to cause the design change as well as improving the viability of the overall construction work. |
