Abstract |
A field test was carried out to an apartment houses with 85m2-type actual area in Jinju Territory to observe the effect of insulation of basement external walls and to suggest the basic design data for efficient energy management of buildings and insulation design measures through this observation, so to reduce the consumption of city-gas in the first floor where the consumption of heating energy is the largest in apartment houses; the temperature of basement before insulation was 8.3℃ in average 1.5℃ of outer temperature and it was found that basement receives a large influence from the thermal flows of first floor bottom heating. A correlation equation between external temperature and the insulation of basement was obtained based on the field test of basement. When calculating based on such equation, 7.3㎥/month of city-gas could be saved with internal insulation of basement and 2.4㎥/month of city-gas could be saved with the external insulation of externally exposed part of basement, in case of 85m2-type apartment houses in Jinju in January 2006; this quantities correspond to app. 3.6% and app. 1.2% of the quantity of heating city-gas in ordinary year, respectively. |
