Abstract |
Recently, an automated PHC pile head cutting and crushing machine has been developed in domestic construction industry. Automating PHC pile head cutting and crushing work can improve safety, productivity and quality, and reduce construction costs as well. However, the results of laboratory tests of pilot type and prototype of the developed automated machine reveal that they have several problems such as the durability of disk frame, the decrease of cutting and crushing speed, and the difficulty in inserting the automated machine into PHC pile. The primary objective of this study is to propose a PHC pile head cutting and crushing machine, which can meet the field requirements and the standard specification related to PHC pile head cutting and crushing work, based on the previous research and development efforts. This study mainly illustrates the results of laboratory and field tests of the suggested PHC pile head cutting and crushing machine. Future research works required for developing its commercialization model are also presented in this paper. |
