Abstract The purpose of this study is to show the typology of temporary housing for refugees from disasters and also the result of this study propose a basic data for architecture planing of temporary housing. The temporary housing in case of disasters needs to confront with technological, social problems. Therefore the elements which are influence to temporary housing are a climate, material, structure and period. The results are following: firstly, the typology of temporary housing is divided into general systems and movable systems. The general system shows a paper-tube structure, ferroconcrete structure according to a climate, natural features. The movable system shows a prefabrication and deploying structure. Secondly, the systems are divided into short term, middle term and long term according to a climate, and also a structure, material. Thirdly, technical characteristics of the systems show promptitude, mobility, lightweight, modularity, flexibility and economical efficiency. The use of mobility and flexibility do not show in the general system, and the use of lightweight, promptitude economical efficiency shows in the movable system.
