Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to develop a new hybrid member consisted of glued-laminated timber(glulam) and wire rope for structural applications. For the bending behavior characteristics of the proposed member, the experiment was proceeded as follows. The main parameters of specimens, which has a length of 2100mm, are prestressing force of wire rope, saddle height and saddle number. Also, the compression and flexural test of laminated timber were conducted. The flexural strength(M.O.R) and elasticity(M.O.E) of hybrid specimens without defect were increased. The M.O.R and M.O.E of hybrid specimens with defect, as it compared with SPTYPE-3 with failure at the finger joints, were conspicuously increased. After the failure of glulam, the ductile behavior by the wire rope were especially showed. |
