Abstract Recently, intranet technologies have been considered as enablers that can facilitate Knowledge Management(KM) efforts within a construction organization by offering a networked environment for better knowledge exchanges. However, if an intranet is not well designed form the outset, it cannot satisfy various knowledge needs, but can only expedite the exchanges of mere data and information. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to suggest a conceptual model of an LL management system, which is primarily operated on an intranet, for large construction companies.
By suggesting a model lessens-learned system(LLS), the results of this study will help organizations have a competitive edge through quick responses to problem solving, maintain their long-term prosperity through reducing the impacts of knowledge losses, and increase direct revenues through the sale of value-added knowledge.
