First, residents of traditional houses at Nakan village lived there before it was designated as folk village and the age of householders was mostly over their sixties and family type is simple type composed of husband and wife. Their livelihood is mostly farming, but they lack ability to farm by themselves and maintain their livelihood with supports or assistance by their sons and daughters, relatives or Nakan village promotion association.
Second, components of residential space were increased to 6.3 from average 5.9. Bathroom and toilet were newly built, furnace and small kitchen were disappeared and shed was remodelled to room and used as tourist home. It means increase of rooms, creation of sanitary space and decrease of storage space.
Third, plane characteristics of transformation phenomenon caused changes of form through addition, integration and division of rooms and according to understanding of changed types, change of internal and external space was shown as mixed type (11) > internal adjustment type (7) > additional type (3) in order. Each type has correlation to distance isolated from major street within village.
Fourth, spatial structure was changed into structure of dichotomy ("Ga type"), biased type ("Na type") and reduction ("Da type") due to change and creation of use of spatial components in organic structure of traditional residences. Changes of spatial structure and plane transformation were closely related to biased type in internal adjustment type and mixed type to dichotomy type and additional type to reduction type.
Fifth, major causes of transformation were pursuit of convenience of residential life space and economic activity using residence and transformation for economic activities was caused by making it tourist spot or special environment of Nakan village which are not found in other regions.
