Abstract In rapid changes of social phenomenon, the current city has been changed variously and complicatedly by degrees. At this point, to make city activities easier, utilizing underground space is an big issue, and various developments are happening right now. But even though underground space contains possibility of a large scale disaster, because of it's nature of construction, thinking over and planning evacuation facilities in case of a fire is not happening currently. Therefore, in this research, vision difficulty in fire, which is to study the alteration of visibility range and evacuation speed by changing options of the emergency-exit-light were measured, selecting ordinary citizens as subjects. Proper distance for establishment of the emergency-exit-light has been presented through this research. Analyzing changes of the subjects evacuation speed and form in different shapes of spaces, it turned out it took less time to evacuate in straight spaces. With this result, we hope to provide basis data for emergency-exit-light‘s efficient establishment in underground spaces, in case of an emergency.
