Abstract It is presently unclear whether the post-tensioned(PT) flat plate slab connection possesses sufficient lateral displacement capacity to survive the lateral deformations that can be expected during a strong earthquake or wind. Since there are few researches on PT flat plate slab systems, the deformation capacity of the systems have not been well defined. In this paper, a series of experiment was carried out using 8 interior and 2 exterior PT flat plate slab-column connections. Test variables of this experimental study are vertical load level, tendon distribution patterns and bottom reinforcement arrangement. And the objective of this paper is to examine the available data from present and past research and develop major parameters that influence the lateral displacement capacity and ductility of PT flat plate slab.
