Abstract As urbanization has progressed, many types of hospitals have established. However, their use-types and maintenance of functions of these hospitals are so diverse that we need a systematic guideline for the sake of effective and economic operation.
Therefore this paper is focused on establishing systematic and classified data about general hospital buildings in Daegu Metropolitan City. The purpose of this research aims to propose a proper guideline for economic operation of the building, in particular mass general ones among many type of hospitals, by firstly extracting definite factors that mainly cause energy consumption, secondly analyzing consumption patterns of energy, thirdly calculating energy consumption unit per Mcal/㎡?year.
Finally, the results of this research are as follows :
1) The average electric power consumption of five mass general hospitals is 243.5 Mcal/㎡?yr.
2) The average fuel energy consumption of five mass general hospitals is 345.5 Mcal/㎡?yr.
3) Energy consumption unit of general hospitals 589.0 Mcal/㎡?yr in Daegu metropolitan city.
