Abstract |
A large number of Korean traditional wood structures have shown structural deficiencies including material deterioration, settlement, and many others. However, it is difficult to predict their structural performance under various loadings from the engineering point of view because the structural deficiencies have not been treated in engineering context yet. This paper proposes a systematic evaluation method to assess structural performance of the wooden structures using fuzzy concepts rather than definitely defined engineering formula. For linguistic description of inspection results this study decomposes performances at system level into ones at sublevel influences by members and element behavior and their status. The fuzzy synthetic theory to a scoring method enables us to draw a representative and comprehensive value from individual quantity. |
