Abstract A proper selection of slab formwork is important to perform successfully construction project. However, selection of formwork in high-rise building construction was performed by restrictive experience, in Korea. Therefore, this study proposed the decision support system for slab formwork selection of high-rise building construction. In this study, the system was conducted 79 cases from residential high-rise building which was constructed cast-placed-in reinforced concrete structure. In order to develop selection model, case-based reasoning (CBR) was used to construct the Decision Support System for slab Formwork Selection (DSSFS). The DSSFS was compared to equal-weights, gradient descent method-weights, and analytical hierarchy process (AHP)-weights to improve efficiency of the DSSFS. The prediction rates showed to 80%, 90%, and 80%, respectively. The results showed that the DSSFS is effective as decision support tool. The DSSFS was expected that slab formwork selection was performed rational decision by offered systematic information.
