Abstract According to the advent of 'Sustainability' paradigm caused by environmental pollution, Building Management Business is getting important. In Korea, the movement of developing more efficient and economical management system based on wide spreaded IT industrial infrastructure and rapidly improved technology has been progressed.
Building Management System has a role as a core system in related information flow, because it has been suggested to build Database and Manual, but present systems are considered one of simple marketing strategies. To address this gap, this study try to suggest a direction to improve present systems by seizing the present state of information flow in Multi-family Housing.
This study consists of two parts. First, the part of seizing the present state of information flow in Multi-family Housing, it had been performed by literature study to know the present state of system technology, mass media study to find present management services, and field study to see a use and a number of management systems. Second, the part of suggesting a direction to improve systems, it had been performed by interview with members of management business enterprises to know types of management business, and questionary with residents to research preference and satisfaction of management systems and services.
There are three main conclusions in this study. 1) Web-pages of present Korean multi-family housing complexes are scarcely used. 2) Developing systems in public area is needed urgently in that most of management service systems are concentrated in the private area. 3) Developing shareable networking system is also needed in that each management system has its own information process.
