| Abstract |
Blinds can have a major impact on building energy use and occupant comfort. During times of peak solar gain, shading can reduce cooling loads and overheating. But, if blinds are controlled inappropriately, unwanted solar gain may enter the building in heat-wave conditions, causing overheating. Therefore, the way blinds are controlled can have an important impact on building energy efficiency and on occupant comfort. To establish blind control strategy, occupant use of the blinds need to be examined. This paper examines the actual conditions of occupants use of blinds through window blind usage survey and occupant survey. And It will provide the basis for the development of future automated blind systems. |
