Abstract |
The aim of this study is to investigate the interrelation between service program and spatial composition of elderly welfare facilities in Gwangju and Jeonnam region. Elderly welfare programs were investigated, which can be offered according to their health conditions, and were check for the duplicated and overlooked programs. The results are as follows; 1)The elderly people with mild disorder generally use leisure welfare facilities. The elderly people with severe disorder favor elderly skilled nursing facilities. Lastly in-home care facilities are commonly used regardless the health conditions. 2)The major programs of each facility are as listed: social welfare service at elderly welfare center, medical rehabilitation and medical treatment at elderly skilled nursing facilities, and care, counsel and medical care at in-home care facilities. 3) The result pointed out that mutual relations between service program and spatial composition has connection with main programs and areas of each facility. 4)The supportive programs are welfare program, region welfare and in-home care at elderly welfare center, in-home care and social education at elderly skilled nursing facilities, and social education, welfare program and medical rehabilitation at in-home care facilities. In order to systematize the concept of community-based facilities, it is necessary to compose the welfare space for future facilities under the consideration of social education service, medical care service and in-home welfare service. |
